Auf den ersten Blick machen TripAdLib das, was alle Bands früher oder später tun, wenn sie ihre Proberäume und Aufnahmestudios verlassen: sie spielen live. Dass sich die beiden allerdings stilistisch innerhalb der Elektronischen Tanzmusik bewegen, dessen Aufführungen wohl am stärksten damit assoziiert werden, was nicht live ist, überrascht.

In dieser zunehmend digitalisierten Welt aus Samplern, Sequencern und Laptops setzen TripAdLib der kühlen Ästhetik von Techno ein kompromissloses Statement fürs Handgemachte entgegen. Denn TripAdLib spielen, was im Kosmos der Clubkultur selten ist, noch akustische Instrumente.

TripAdLib sind Humanizer und Drummachine in Personalunion, die Verkörperlichung entmenschlichter Maschinenmusik, das Blut und der Schweiß von Sync-Button und Midi-Clock, kurzum – der organische Gegenpol zum Spiel mit Tonträgern und vorproduzierten Audioschnipseln. Die Musik, die dabei herauskommt? Es würde zu kurz greifen, diese nur auf four on the Floor, repetitive Synthi-Bässen und hookverspielte Melodien zu reduzieren; und doch gehen Tanzbarkeit, Groove und emotionaler Ausdruck eine Symbiose ein in dieser Musik, die ist wie ein Soundtrack zu einem technoiden Trip ad libitum.
